Andy Warhol

Born in 1928 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Andy Warhol began his art career illustrating advertisements for fashion magazines. During this period, he discovered his connection to modern art, eventually establishing an identity for himself as one of the most influential contemporary artists. Now, there is an Andy Warhol museum — The Warhol — in Pittsburgh, as well as the Andy Warhol Foundation for Visual Arts. Warhol is specifically known for his expression of pop culture within his art, also known as “Pop Art.”
